"Electric bicycle frame"
The present invention relates to an electrically assisted bicycle frame such as a mountain bike called electric assisted mountain bike, and a method of mounting a bicycle comprising a frame according to the invention.
In the field of cycling, it is well known so-called electric assistance bicycles whose acronym is pedelec consists of a conventional bicycle frame and comprising an electric motor, such as an electric motor positioned at the bottom bracket, powered by a battery usually secured to the rear luggage rack or the seat tube or the oblique tube of the frame of the bicycle.
These pedelecs provide users with assistance in pedaling effort by providing additional pedaling. Usually, these pedelecs include one or more sensors that detect the presence of pedaling, its frequency, the force exerted on the pedals, braking, etc. and a controller that integrates measured data and regulates power consumption and controls the motor in its various operating phases such as starting, continuous speed, acceleration, etc. from the information transmitted by the sensors.
Such VAE have been known for more than a century, the first VAE having been described in particular in US patents US 596,272, US 656,323 and US 2, 179,418 in particular.
However, the very heavy weight of the batteries as well as the low power of the engines have been a brake on the development and marketing of these bikes.
Advances in batteries and electric motors over the last few decades have made VAE more attractive and the VAE market is growing steadily.
More specifically, the reduction of the size of the batteries made it possible to develop more aesthetic and lighter VAE. Such VAE are described in particular in documents US 2014/0175768, DE 202015003010 and CN 204161601U for example.
Documents US 2014/0175768 and DE 202015003010 describe an electric assistance bicycle (EBC) comprising a frame consisting of a seat tube, an oblique tube and a horizontal tube, an electric motor positioned at the housing of pedal and engaged with the latter, said electric motor being powered by a battery positioned in a recess formed in the oblique tube. The latter has a substantially rectangular section and larger than the oblique tube of a bicycle without electric assistance. The recess of the oblique tube comprises means for blocking the battery which is inserted into said recess from the upper face of the oblique tube.
In addition to the fact that this type of pedelec requires a particular manufacturing process oblique tube, which strike the cost of manufacturing these bikes, the position on the oblique tube provides a center of gravity a little further forward and a little higher which makes the bike more unstable and reduces the grip of the rear wheel.
To remedy these drawbacks, it has already been devised VAE in which the battery is secured to the seat tube near the bottom bracket. This is notably the case of the Chinese utility model CN 204161601U.
This document describes an EAV comprising a frame consisting of a seat tube, an oblique tube and a horizontal tube, an electric motor positioned at the bottom bracket housing and engaged with the latter, said electric motor being powered by a battery positioned between the seat tube, the oblique tube and the horizontal tube. It comprises a housing positioned at the bottom bracket housing, ie at the intersection of the seat tube and the oblique tube, and adapted to receive a battery which extends vertically in front of the seat tube, said battery being held vertically by a bracket integral with the seat tube.
This type of pedelec has the disadvantage of not being adapted to all-suspension bicycles having a rear arm articulated to the frame and a damper usually positioned between the seat tube, the oblique tube and the horizontal tube. Indeed, the position of the battery prevents the integration of the articulation of the rear arm and the damper between the seat tubes, oblique and horizontal.
There is therefore a need for a VAE comprising a so-called standard battery, i.e. produced in large series and therefore less expensive, and whose integration allows for a rear suspension comprising a swing arm hinged to the frame and a damper. One of the aims of the invention is therefore to remedy these drawbacks by proposing an electric assistance bicycle frame of simple and inexpensive design, providing a center of gravity positioned near the bottom bracket and allowing a quick and easy assembly. easy of the bicycle. For this purpose and in accordance with the invention, it is proposed a bicycle frame electric assistance or the like comprising at least one so-called frame frame consisting of a seat tube, an oblique tube, and a horizontal tube, the lower end of said seat tube, that is to say the intersection of the oblique tube and said seat tube, comprising a substantially horizontal platform receiving on its underside an electric motor powered by a battery and engaged with a bottom bracket bearing the axis of driving gears, and at least one rear arm adapted to carry the axis of the hub of a driving wheel; said frame is remarkable in that the battery is secured to the platform between the seat tube and the oblique tube and the plane orthogonal to the sagittal plane of the frame passing through the seat tube and / or the plane orthogonal to the sagittal plane of the passing frame by the oblique tube is secant with the volume containing the battery.
We understand that the position of the battery, just above the bottom bracket, provides a low center of gravity, increasing the stability of the bike, and the vertical of the bottom bracket, thus preserving good wheel adhesion front and rear. Moreover, the shape of the frame, and more particularly the shape of the oblique tube and the shape of the seat tube not only allows a quick and easy installation of the battery but also easy and easy handling for removal and positioning of the battery when recharging the battery.
According to a preferred embodiment, the platform comprises means for fixing the battery and in that the oblique tube has an inverted V shape comprising two stay cables extending on either side of the sagittal plane of the frame, the two shrouds joining in the upper part of the oblique tube near the horizontal tube and the lower ends of the shrouds being integral with the longitudinal edges of the platform, and the seat tube has at least one clearance to allow the passage of the battery under said tube saddle.
Preferably, said seat tube comprises a right upper part and a curved lower part whose convexity is oriented outwards, the lower end of the lower part of the seat tube being integral with one of the longitudinal edges of the seat. platform.
Said fixing means of the battery consist of a soleplate adapted to be fixed on the platform of the frame and having at its front and rear ends means for securing a so-called front and respectively rear binding, said battery being positioned between the fasteners front and rear.
Furthermore, the front attachment comprises battery locking means.
Said locking means consists of a barrel extending laterally, that is to say perpendicularly to the sagittal plane of the frame, and actuating a finger adapted to cooperate with a fastening tab integral with the battery.
Advantageously, one of the stays of the oblique tube has at its lower end a day extending to the right of the barrel.
In addition, the rear attachment comprises electrical contacts connected to the electric motor and adapted to cooperate with the electrical contacts of the battery.
Furthermore, the sole comprises a central plate and two arms extending on either side of said plate, a so-called front arm having means for securing the front attachment and a rear arm having means for securing the attachment. back. Such a construction allows, during the manufacture of the bike, mounting the battery on the sole on a dedicated station and mounting the sole on the frame after the other components of the bike are assembled on the frame.
Said fastening means of the front arm of the sole consist of at least two vertical studs extending from the upper face of the front arm and respectively comprising a threaded hole.
Said fastening means of the rear arm of the sole consist of at least two holes extending to the right of two threaded sleeves extending below the rear arm of the sole, the plate has a rectangular shape and comprises at each of its angles a through hole.
In addition, the platform comprises on its upper face a recess of corresponding shape to the sole and in which is housed said sole.
According to an alternative embodiment, the battery has a substantially parallelepipedal shape and comprises at least one of its ends a notch through which the seat tube or the oblique tube extends. Other advantages and features will become more apparent from the description which follows, of a single variant embodiment, given by way of non-limiting example, of the bicycle frame according to the invention, from the attached drawings in which: FIG. 1 is a side view of the frame of the electric-assisted bicycle according to the invention, FIG. 2 is a side view of the frame of the electric-assisted bicycle according to the invention with certain elements in transparency and the battery in locked and unlocked positions; FIG. 3 is a rear perspective view of the frame of the electric-assisted bicycle according to the invention; FIG. 4 is a front perspective view of the frame of the electric-assisted bicycle according to FIG. DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS FIG.
Hereinafter will be described an electric bicycle frame bicycle type mountain bike, said virtual pivot point; However, it is obvious that the frame can be adapted to a bicycle of any type such as a city bike or road without departing from the scope of the invention.
Referring to Figures 1 and 2, the bicycle frame 1 according to the invention has a triangular shape and consists of a generally vertical seat tube 2, an oblique tube 3 assembled by welding at the lower end of the tube seat 2 and a horizontal tube 4 whose ends are welded together at the upper end of the seat tube 2 and respectively to a generally vertical fork tube 5, the oblique tube 3 being, moreover, secured to said tube Fork 5 also by welding. This fork tube 5 receives a fork telescopic type, not shown in Figure 1, carrying at its lower end the axis of the hub of the front wheel of the ATV. A handlebar is conventionally secured to the distal end of a bracket secured to the upper end of the fork to provide the direction of the ATV, the handlebar and the stem are also not shown in Figure 1. In addition , the seat tube 2 is adapted to receive a seat post, not shown in Figure 1, comprising at its upper end a seat on which takes position the cyclist.
It goes without saying that the various saddle tubes 2, oblique 3, horizontal 4 and fork 5 of the frame 1 can be assembled by any suitable means well known to those skilled in the art such as by gluing and / or interlocking for example without departing from the scope of the invention. The lower end of said seat tube 2, that is to say the intersection of the oblique tube 3 and said seat tube 2, comprises a substantially horizontal platform 6 receiving on its upper face a battery 7 supplying an electric motor 8 positioned beneath said platform and engaged with a bottom bracket 9 conventionally carrying the axis of driving gears, not shown in Figures 1 and 2, commonly called trays whose axes of rotation are coaxial. Pedals, not shown in Figures 1 and 2, are integral with the axis of the pinions leading on either side of the frame 1 of the ATV. In this embodiment, the platform 6 is inclined from back to front and from top to bottom at an angle α of about 20 ° relative to the horizontal; however, it goes without saying that the angle may be between -10 ° and 30 ° without departing from the scope of the invention.
Said mountain bike comprises, moreover, an oscillating arm 10 consisting of two stays 10a, 10b extending on either side of the median plane of the frame 1, said stays 10a, 10b being connected by one or more struts not shown on the Figure 1 and 2.
Said oscillating arm 10 is secured to the frame 1 by two hinge means 11 and 12. The first so-called lower hinge means 11 consists of a so-called lower link whose axes of rotation 11a and 11b positioned at the free ends of said link 11 are respectively articulated at the distal end of the swing arm 10 and the seat tube 2 at the platform 6, near the bottom bracket housing 9. This lower link 11 extends generally horizontally to the rear of the seat tube 2 of frame 1 of the ATV when the latter is in a static equilibrium position, that is to say when a middleweight cyclist takes position on the saddle of the ATV. The second said upper articulation means 12 consists of a so-called upper link 12 whose axes 12a and 12b are articulated to the proximal end of the oscillating arm 10 and respectively to the horizontal tube 4 near the seat tube 2 of the frame 1. This upper link 12 extends generally vertically between the seat tube 2 and the oblique tube, below the horizontal tube 4 of the frame 1 of the ATV when the latter is in the static equilibrium position. In addition, the ATV comprises a damper 13 whose free ends are secured respectively to the horizontal tube 4 and the upper link 12.
It is obvious that the damper 13 may be integral with the oblique tube without departing from the scope of the invention. Furthermore, it is obvious that the oscillating arm 10 may have any shape such as a triangular shape for example and that the oscillating arm 10 may be substituted by a rigid arm, not articulated to the frame, to form a so-called rigid bike such as a so-called city bike or a road bike or a bike all terrait stiff for example, and not a bicycle of the type while suspended without departing from the scope of the invention.
Referring to Figures 3 to 6, the oblique tube 3 has an inverted V shape and thus comprises two stays 3a, 3b extending on either side of the sagittal plane of the frame, the two stays 3a, 3b joining in the upper part of the seat tube 3 near the horizontal tube 4, at the fork tube 5, and the lower ends of the stays 3a, 3b being integral with the longitudinal edges of the platform 6, in front of said platform 6 In this way, the front part of the battery 7 can extend between the stays 3a, 3b and the space between the stays 3a, 3b provides a sufficient clearance for the removal of the battery during a charging operation. the latter as it will be detailed later.
Furthermore, the seat tube 2 has a clearance to allow the passage of the battery 7 under said seat tube 2. In this particular embodiment, said seat tube 2 has a right upper portion 2a and a lower bent portion 2b whose convexity is oriented towards the outside, ie whose concavity is right in the sagittal plane of the frame 1, the lower end of the lower part 2b of the seat tube 2 being integral with one of the longitudinal edges of the platform 6 in its rear part. It is understood that the curved lower part provides a lateral clearance facilitating the assembly and disassembly of the battery 7.
Furthermore, with reference to FIG. 7, the frame 1 includes means 14 for securing the battery 7 on the platform 6. Said fastening means 14 of the battery 7 consist of a sole 15 adapted to be fixed on the platform 6 of the frame 1 and having at its front and rear ends means for securing a fastening said front 16 and respectively rear 17, said battery 7 being positioned between the fasteners before 16 and rear 17. Said front attachment 16 comprises means of lock 18 of the battery 7 to prevent any theft of the battery in particular. These locking means 18 consist of a barrel 19, with reference to FIGS. 11 and 12, extending laterally, that is to say perpendicularly to the sagittal plane of the frame 1, and operating as a finger adapted to cooperate with a tab of FIG. fixed attachment of the battery 7, the finger and the bracket is not shown in the figures. In order to enable the actuation of the barrel 19 by means of a key or the like, one of the stays 3a of the oblique tube 3 comprises at its lower end a day 20 extending to the right of said barrel 18. In this particular example, said day 20 has a circular shape; however, it is obvious that said day may be of any form without departing from the scope of the invention. Moreover, incidentally, said day 20 may be closed by a cover, not shown in the figures, removable. In addition, the rear attachment 17 comprises electrical contacts, not shown in FIG. 7, connected to the electric motor 8 and able to cooperate with the electrical contacts of the battery 7.
Furthermore, with reference to FIGS. 7 and 8, sole plate 15 comprises a central plate 21 and two arms 22, 23 extending on either side of said plate 21, a so-called front arm 22 comprising means for securing the front attachment 16 and a rear arm 23 having means for securing the rear attachment 17. Such a construction allows, during the manufacture of the bike, a mounting of the battery on the sole 15 on a dedicated station and the mounting of the sole 15 on the frame 1 after the other components of the bicycle are assembled on the frame 1. Said fastening means of the front arm 22 of the sole 15 consist of at least two vertical studs 24 extending from the upper face of the front arm 22 and respectively comprising a threaded hole 25. Said means for securing the rear arm 23 of the sole plate 15 consist of at least two holes 26 extending to the right of two threaded bushings 27 extending below the rear arm 23 of the sole plate 15, said threaded sleeves being integral with said rear arm 23. In this particular embodiment, the plate 21 has a rectangular shape and comprises at each of its angles a through hole 28 adapted to receive a screw 29 ( 7) to fix the plate 21, and finally the sole 15, on the platform 6 which has four threaded holes adapted to receive said screws 29.
It is obvious that the plate 21 may have any shape without departing from the scope of the invention.
In order to avoid an excess thickness in the platform 6 and to prevent soil or sand from being housed under the battery 7, with reference to FIG. 7, the platform 6 comprises on its upper face a recess 30 of shape corresponding to the sole 15 and in which is housed said sole 15.
It will be noted that, by construction, the plane orthogonal to the sagittal plane of the frame passing through the saddle tube 2 and the plane orthogonal to the sagittal plane of the frame passing through the oblique tube 3 are intersecting with the volume containing the parallelepipedal battery 7.
We will now explain the different steps of mounting the battery 7 on the frame 1 with reference to Figures 7 to 14.
Referring to Figure 9, the rear attachment 17 is attached to the rear end of the rear leg 23 of the sole 15 by means of screws, not shown in Figure 9, and, with reference to Figure 10, a template 31 is positioned on the sole 15 by resting on the rear attachment 17. Referring to FIG. 11, the front binding 16 is then positioned on the front leg 22 of the sole 15 at the location indicated by the jig 31, then said front attachment 16 is attached to the front end of the front leg 22 of the sole 15 by means of screws, not shown in the figures.
Referring to Figure 7, the sole 15 provided with the front 16 and rear fasteners 17 is positioned in the recess 30 of the platform 6 and is fixed to said platform by means of the screws 29 (Figure 12).
The battery 7 can then be introduced between the seat tubes 2, oblique 3 and horizontal 4, slightly inclined upwards and backwards forwards so that the rear end of the battery 7 bears on the rear attachment 17 ( 13), then the battery 7 is pivoted downwards until the front end of the battery 7 cooperates with the front attachment 16 which automatically locks the battery 7 (FIG. 14). For the withdrawal of the battery 7, simply actuate the barrel 19 to unlock the battery 7 and then slightly lift the battery 7 from its front end, before removing it completely.
According to an alternative embodiment of the bicycle frame with electric assistance, with reference to FIG. 15, said bicycle frame 1 according to the invention is of the "rigid" type, presents in the same manner as previously a triangulated shape and is constituted by a generally vertical seat tube 2, an oblique tube 3 assembled by welding at the lower end of the seat tube 2 and a horizontal tube 4 whose ends are assembled by welding at the upper end of the tube saddle 2 and respectively to a generally vertical fork tube 5, the oblique tube 3 being, moreover, secured to said fork tube 5 also by welding. This fork tube 5 receives a fork telescopic type or a rigid fork, not shown in Figure 15, carrying at its lower end the axis of the hub of the front wheel of the bicycle. A handlebar is conventionally secured to the distal end of a bracket secured to the upper end of the fork to ensure the direction of the bike, the handlebar and the stem are also not shown in Figure 15. In addition , the seat tube 2 is adapted to receive a seat post, not shown in Figure 15, comprising at its upper end a saddle on which the cyclist takes position. It goes without saying that the various saddle tubes 2, oblique 3, horizontal 4 and fork 5 of the frame 1 can be assembled by any suitable means well known to those skilled in the art such as by gluing and / or interlocking for example without departing from the scope of the invention. The lower end of said seat tube 2, that is to say the intersection of the oblique tube 3 and said seat tube 2, comprises a substantially horizontal platform 6 receiving on its upper face a battery 7 supplying an electric motor 8 positioned beneath said platform and engaged with a bottom bracket 9 conventionally carrying the axis of driving gears, not shown in Figure 15, commonly called trays whose axes of rotation are coaxial. Pedals, not shown in Figure 15, are integral with the axis of the pinions leading on either side of the frame 1 of the bicycle.
Said bicycle comprises, moreover, a rear arm 10 consisting of two stays 10a, 10b extending on either side of the sagittal plane of the frame 1, said stays 10a, 10b being connected by two horizontal arms 10'a, 10b 'b at the lower end of the seat post 2 and / or at the platform 6.
The bicycle frame is different from that previously described in that the battery 7 has a substantially parallelepiped shape and has at each of its ends a notch 32a and 32b through which respectively extend the seat tube 2 and the oblique tube 3. Said battery 7 is secured to the platform 6 and / or to the seat tube 2 and / or to the oblique tube 3 by any appropriate means. Note that the battery 7 may include only one notch 32a or 32b depending on the dimensions of said battery and / or dimensions or geometry of the frame without departing from the scope of the invention. Thus, the plane orthogonal to the sagittal plane of the frame passing through the seat tube 2 and / or the plane orthogonal to the sagittal plane of the frame passing through the oblique tube 3 is intersecting with the volume containing the battery 7. By sagittal plane is meant, or center plane, the plane containing the seat tube 2, the oblique tube 3 and the horizontal tube 4.
It is understood that, in the same manner as above, the position of the battery, just above the bottom bracket, provides a low center of gravity, increasing the stability of the bike, and to the vertical of the bottom bracket , thus preserving a good adhesion of the front and rear wheels. Moreover, the shape of the frame, and more particularly the shape of the oblique tube and the shape of the seat tube not only allows a quick and easy installation of the battery but also easy and easy handling for removal and positioning of the battery when recharging the battery.
Moreover, it goes without saying that, in the exemplary embodiment described in FIGS. 1 to 6, the seat tube 2 or the oblique tube 3 may be substituted by a rectilinear tube extending in the sagittal plane of the frame and the battery 7 will then have a notch 32a or 32b for the passage of said seat tube 2 or said oblique tube 3 respectively without departing from the scope of the invention.
It is understood that the present invention is in no way limited to the embodiments described above and that many modifications can be made without departing from the scope of the appended claims.
